Luton Ghana Society: Kente Festival Exhibition

As part of Luton’s Ghana Society’s annual program of events marking Black History Month, we are delighted to host their annual Kente festival in the UK, celebrating the Royal Kente cloth and showcasing the cultural heritage of this symbolic cloth which has evolved globally and “weaves the world.”

The exhibition will be a selected collection of Kente cloth from Ghana mostly from the Kente Town of Bonwire in the Ashanti region of Ghana renowned for their unique vocation of weaving Kente in rich vibrant colours.

Cllr Maria Lovell MBE is also coroneted as the Bonwire Nkosuohemaa (Development Queen) with her royal title as HRH Nana Abena Asantewaa I.

The exhibition will also include other African artefacts.
